PCC has partnered with United Indians of All Tribes Foundation on a tote bag by Pacific Northwest-based Indigenous Artist Heather Johnston(Unangan/Alutiiq). The tote is available for purchase at Sacred Circle and Yubec shops and online.
This piece depicts the seafaring traditions of the Unangax. Notice each circle is split in half showing everything in balance. Within each circle is a sacred part of life of the North. The feathers represent the birds and the sky while the whale represents the waters and the life within. The smaller circles represent the daily life of hunting and providing. The red and black in the small circles below represent family and the future while the bottom represents the ancestors and our past.
