Water and the sun have always been significant aspects of life for tribal people. Rivers provided necessities like river cane and also served as a means of transportation for travel and trade. Just as the river brings necessities to sustain life, so does the sun. The sun represents the Creator who has gifted us light to warm our days and bring forth food.
