Vitality. Community. Conservation.
In 1993, Claire Emery set off with her field journal to sketch the wild & working landscapes of Montana. Twenty years later, Claire's hand-colored woodcuts shine with a vitality and a strength that speak to our locals and new neighbors in Montana. Her devotional work is to honor the plants, animals, and special places of home.
Claire Emery's woodcuts are drawn outdoors and then carved, printed, and painted by hand in the old way. From her studio in Missoula, she actively collaborates with scientists, conservation groups and others working in service of community vitality in order to raise money and awareness for their important work. Claire prioritizes sustainability in all aspects of her business by using ethically sourced materials for her woodblocks, recycled materials for notecards and calendars, and utilizes local businesses for printing production.
