This bracelet displays the word ʔalʔal which means "home" in Lushootseed.
It includes a traditional basket design originating in the Coast Salish and Puget Sound regions. The design shows a plant growing up and out. This is symbolic of the life of a human being, growing up and growing out. The design also resembles a small structure, which represents home and a greater sense of community that includes all of us.
