Hummingbirds are a favorite of many people but for Haida artist Sondra S. Segundo they carry an extra special meaning. Created on the day Sondra's aw'aa (mother) was diagnosed with cancer. As she prayed for her aw'aa, she watched the morning sunrise. A hummingbird came and perched on a branch before her, inspiring the sun mask tail. This artwork is dedicated to all the surviving and fallen warriors.
